Hi, I'm Jes Reed

I’ve been teaching yoga, strength, meditation and relaxation classes since 2013. In my classes, I like to blend modern movement and exercise science with the traditional practice of training the mind.

I started practicing yoga first as self care for panic attacks. Not only did yoga help me understand and manage my panic attacks, but it also left me feeling stronger and more resilient in general. My main motivation in teaching yoga is to help people identify and overcome real and perceived obstacles to maintaining a lifelong movement habit. I especially enjoy working with people of all ages who are trying to stay active, healthy and happy despite the problems or restrictions they have.

I believe human health needs movement and strength. Yoga is a great practice for expressing the range of human movement, especially when combined with strength training. It’s important to retain muscle mass and strength as we age to handle the demands of our daily life with ease.

I received a 200 hour certificate from now:yoga in 2013, restorative yoga level 1 with Judith Lasater in 2017 and my 500 hour with Jules Mitchell in 2018. I’m also trained by Livestrong in group exercise for cancer survivors and by the Brian Grant foundation for exercise for Parkinsons.
